Education
Mychel Vail, DDS, MSD is originally from Valparaiso, IN. At IN University she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry in 1992 and her DDS in 1995. Dr. Vail then received advanced dental training in the Navy, where she served active duty in Okinawa, Japan and the United States. She then received a Fellowship from the American Association of Endodontists to complete her Master’s Degree in 2004.
Professional Involvement
Dr. Vail has taught at IN School of Dentistry for the past 21 years where she served as the Clinical Professor while working part-time at Endodontic Specialists (since 2004). She continues to maintain her role of Clinical Professor in Graduate Endodontics at the school while she works full-time at Endodontic Specialists (2014). Dr. Vail is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and is a member of the AAE, ADA, and IDDS.

Dr. Vail is married to Dr. Matt Vail, an Infectious Disease Physician with Hancock Regional Hospital. Dr. Vail enjoys running, playing tennis and spending time with her three children (Brendon, Bennett, and Brielle).
Dr. Vail was nominated for the seventeenth year in a row for Indianapolis Monthly’s Top Dentists in 2025.
